Festival „Visioon" is an insight to the future and meant for young people, who love improvisation and jazz music. Every year over 140 young musicians participate in the festival. Many of the first years' participants have now become outstanding musicians, who represent Estonia in different
International competitions and festivals. „Visioon" has no age limits. We prioritize collaboration with professionals, who inspire young people to explore the wonderful world of music and thereby practise more.
At the center of festival are Big Bands, joint projects and ensemble playing. This year the International Youth Big Band is formed third time already. The conductor of the Big Band of 2015 is the professor of Sibelius Academy Jukkis Uotila. Our partners in the project are Estonian Music Academy and G. Ots Tallinn Music School jazz departments. Leaders of this project are Teet Raik and Mairo Marjamaa.
The participants of the festival are soloists, ensembles and Big Bands from Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden and England. The workshops and jam sessions will take place.
The impulse from young musicians gives the organizers new ideas and inspiration for next festivals!
